About the Program

AdoptaFrog enables individuals to provide encouragement to a family and directly support a baby in the NICU by making a small contribution to provide the premature infant with a positioning aid for comfort and security.

What is a Frog?

A frog is a beanbag positioning aid resembling a frog. Originally designed by a NICU nurse, a frog helps with comfortable positioning of a premature baby. The frog may be placed around the infant's head, neck or hips and can also be adjusted for special positioning needs or used as an extra set of hands giving the infant a snuggled feeling. The polyethylene beads (beans) are encased in two layers of soft fabric for safety and can be moved to different places within the frog-shaped aid for different uses. “Freddy” is made from a soft, cotton/polyester blend and is machine washable and dryable.

How to AdoptaFrog

The cost to AdoptaFrog is $15.  Sponsor a Frog instantly online using a credit card or PayPal account.  Secure payment processing courtesy of PayPal Merchant Services.  If sponsoring a Frog by mail, checks should be made payable to the Family Support Network of Central Carolina.  AdoptaFrog can be noted in the memo area of the check.  We encourage you to adopt multiple frogs or check back each month to AdoptaFrog for new NICU arrivals.  Our goal for July 2008 is the adoption of 30 frogs for NICU babies at Women's Hospital of Greensboro.
